I’m Mommy in the City. I’ve had this blog/site for several years but motherhood has made me tired, lazy, busy and distracted. I’m a Mom of one. A proud Boy Mom. He just turned fourteen and I wish I had better consistency of writing about my adventures of mothering him during his early years, but it seems I have a better gift with taking a million photos and videos of his childhood instead. I’m also married to a very nice bearded man whom I’ll call Frasier when I mention him. He knows why. I’m laughing as I just made this up. He’s a great Dad, and my second child as well, but still rocks as my husband.
I’m a writer that must learn to write without fear. So here I am, finally in the mood to write. My day job is being a school counselor and mental health therapist. Something that is a stigma in my culture. It took my mother a few years to understand what it was that I do. She kept willing herself to think I was a teacher but for clarification she asked what I did in school for the first few years of my career, and when tried to explain to her my title and what I did-it went in one ear and out the other. She was truly hoping I’d become a nurse. But we’ll get to that later. I named my blog Mommy in the City because I grew up and still live in a major urban city. My family and I love to travel around the world, eat, visit museums, learn about other cultures and be with each other. So welcome and thank you for checking out my site. I love to talk about everything that I find important that I want share, what I’m passionate about, what fills one’s spirit and mental wellness, and most of all, my love of being a Mommy.
